What Schools Need to Publish Online
To meet your statutory duties, your school website must feature two key documents: the SEND Information Report and the Accessibility Plan.
1. The SEND Information Report
This is the cornerstone of your online SEND provision. Every school must publish a SEND Information Report on its website.
Updates: The report must be updated annually. If any information changes during the year, it should be updated as soon as possible.
Content: The report must comply with the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014. The statutory guidance for this can be found in the SEND Code of Practice.
Your report must also include specific information about your school's arrangements for disabled pupils, including:
The arrangements for the admission of disabled pupils.
The steps you have taken to prevent disabled pupils from being treated less favourably than other pupils.
The facilities you provide to help disabled pupils access the school.
2. The Accessibility Plan
In addition to the SEND Information Report, you must also publish your school's Accessibility Plan. This document outlines how your school will improve accessibility for disabled pupils over time across three key areas:
1. Curriculum Access: How you will increase the extent to which disabled pupils can participate in the curriculum.
2. Physical Environment: How you will improve the physical environment to increase disabled pupils' access to the educational benefits and services you offer.
3. Information Access: How you will improve the way that information, which is easily accessible to other pupils, is made accessible to pupils with disabilities.
