Performance Data
What Schools Need to Publish Online
The rules for publishing performance data are broken down by key stage. Here’s what you need to know.
A Universal Requirement for All Schools
First, every school needs to provide a link to the government's performance data service. You should publish a link to the Compare school and college performance service and, specifically, to your own school's page on that website. You can find your page by searching for your school on the service and copying the direct URL. This link should be placed in a prominent and easily accessible location on your website.
Primary School Requirements: Key Stage 2
If you have primary-age pupils, you must publish your most recent Key Stage 2 results. The guidance requires you to display the following:
The percentage of pupils who achieved the expected standard in reading, writing, and maths combined.
The percentage of pupils who achieved a higher standard in reading, writing, and maths combined.
Your pupils' average scaled score in reading and in maths.
Important Note: Due to the disruption of COVID-19, you do not have to publish progress scores for the 2023 to 2024 academic year.
Secondary School Requirements: Key Stage 4
For secondary schools, the focus is on your most recent Key Stage 4 performance measures. You must publish the following:
Your school's Progress 8 score.
Your school's Attainment 8 score.
The percentage of pupils achieving a Grade 5 or above in GCSE English and Maths.
Pupil destinations, which shows the percentage of pupils staying in education or going into employment after finishing Key Stage 4.
The percentage of pupils entered for the English Baccalaureate (EBacc).
The EBacc average point score.
Post-16 Requirements
For schools and colleges with post-16 provision, you should publish your most recent headline performance measures, including:
Progress (or value-added) measures.
Attainment measures.
Retention measures.
Destination measures.
